This month, I have one wish for my 34th birthday: that we spark some positive chain reactions around the world. I’m deeply moved by the uniquely creative work of charity: water and their mission to bring clean water to every person on earth. What they’re accomplishing is nothing short of extraordinary, and we’re all invited to join. So this year, I’m excited to pledge my 34th birthday to bring 34 people access to clean water.
Imagine your life with no clean water. Imagine being born into a community where you have to walk 3 to 4 hours a day to gather dirty water and bring it home in heavy Jerry Cans. And then carefully choose the most essential uses for the little water you have.
Most of us reading this have never had to worry about this basic human need. Water has always been there, flowing clean from our taps and in seemingly endless supply. Yet about 663 million people still live without clean water (about 1 out of 10 people).
Women & girls are often the ones making long treks to fill 5-gallon Jerry Cans (weighing 40 lbs. when full) with unsafe water. Given access to clean, safe water in their community, they could redirect that valuable time towards education and empowering opportunities.
charity: water is dedicated to solving the world’s water crisis. Since 2006, they’ve helped 9.5 million people gain access to clean water, better hygiene, and improved sanitation. They’re determined to keep working until every person on earth has clean water.
And we’re all invited to join. For just $30, you can bring one person clean water. (Which sparks a beautiful chain reaction of better health, education, empowerment, business opportunities, etc.)
So this year for my birthday, I’m asking that we spark a few of these positive chain reactions. 100% of your public donations go directly to the field. And here’s the fun part – after completion, we’ll get photos and GPS coordinates from the project we helped fund so you can see the direct impact of your gift.
Water changes everything. Let’s all be a part of the solution. Together.

Please give this amazing story a read! Scott’s determination and fresh, creative approach to solving the water crisis and reinventing charity is the most inspiring thing I’ve seen in a long time. (Bonus: just by purchasing the book, you’re already helping a person in need. All author net proceeds go towards charity: water projects around the world!)
