Vegan Hawaiian BBQ Quesadilla made with sweet pineapple, dairy-free cheese, and BBQ sauce! A quick and flavorful vegan lunch or dinner.

This easy Vegan BBQ Quesadilla is so tasty and satisfying.
The "Hawaiian style" with BBQ sauce, pineapple, red onion, and fresh cilantro is one of our favorite pizza combinations.
So this is a great alternative when we don't have time to make an actual pizza.

Ingredients for Vegan BBQ Quesadilla
For this recipe you will need:
- Pineapple tidbits: Either canned or cut fresh. Most often I simply use canned for convenience.
- Red onion
- Fresh cilantro: This adds great flavor. Use as much or as little as you would like.
- BBQ sauce: Use your own favorite.
- Shredded vegan cheese: There are so many great options for dairy-free cheese available now. Most often I use the Follow Your Heart brand.
- Large tortillas: I try to use whole grain when possible.
Black beans are also a lovely addition for extra heartiness and protein.
Feel free to change it up based on your own preferences, however.

The boyfriend and I love quesadillas. We often make them similar to this recipe minus the cilantro and BBQ sauce. Well, since I've finally found a BBQ sauce at the store that doesn't have a ton of strange ingredients and is sweetened with agave nectar instead of sugar, I have to try this! I'm also going to make it with the mashed avocado like in your other recipe. I'm more than willing to put avocado in any recipe possible. I'm sure the dairy loving boyfriend will still insist on cheese on his but I know they're going to be amazing. Also I just love your recipes. I've been trying to eat more plants and less meat and dairy. I thought the food wouldn't be as tasty, but every recipe I've tried is delicious. Thanks a ton! -Chrissy

That's my favourite pizza topping too! With the BBQ sauce rather than tomato! This recipe is awesome.
