Ingredients

  • 1 medium ripe banana (frozen if possible)
  • 1 cup mango (frozen or fresh)
  • 1 cup pineapple (frozen or fresh)
  • 3/4 cup dairy-free milk
  • 3/4 cup fresh orange juice*
  • 1-2 tsp. ginger, freshly grated (optional)

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender. Blend until smooth.
  • Taste and adjust flavors or consistency if desired.

Notes

*Orange juice: Either store-bought or freshly squeezed from about 3 oranges. Use less liquid for a thicker smoothie.
Fresh vs. frozen: Using frozen fruit results in a colder, thicker smoothie.
Banana-free: Substitute vegan yogurt instead.
Matcha: Add 1 tsp. good-quality organic matcha powder. Any grade of matcha will work with this recipe (ceremonial, latte, or culinary).
Other additions: Ice cubes, ground turmeric, amla powder, vanilla extract, peaches, agave/maple syrup for sweeter flavor, strawberries, kiwi.
Yield: Recipe makes about 3.5 cups smoothie.
