Ingredients

  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. pure maple syrup
  • 2 tsp. dried oregano
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt (or up to 1/2 tsp.)

Instructions

  • Place all ingredients in a small high-speed blender. (I use a NutriBullet.) Blend for 20 seconds until smooth. (If you don't have a small blender, simply whisk together in a bowl.)
  • Taste and adjust flavors and seasoning if desired.
  • Use immediately or store in a sealed glass jar in the fridge for about 1-2 weeks.

Notes

Yield: Recipe makes about 1.75 cups sauce.
Storing: It will slightly thicken as it chills. Re-stir before using.
Updated: This recipe is an update of a previously posted pizza sauce. If you're looking for the older version (a much thicker sauce), the ingredients to whisk together are: 6 oz. can tomato paste, 1-3 cloves garlic, 3 Tbsp. water (or more), 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar, 1/4 tsp. dried basil, 1/4 tsp. dried oregano, 1/8 tsp. cumin, and salt to taste.
