FAQ
Q: Can I use The Garden Grazer recipes on my website or newsletter?
A: I kindly ask that you don’t republish my recipes in their entirety. If you’re a blogger or media outlet that wishes to share a recipe from The Garden Grazer, please feel free to feature one image from my site along with clear credit and a link back to the original recipe on thegardengrazer.com. I do not allow republishing of full recipes in any form. Thanks very much for your understanding!
Q: Why don’t you include sodium content in your nutrition estimates?
A: I completely understand people’s concern with sodium, which is actually why I purposely omit stating the numbers on my site. I feel itβs not nearly an accurate enough calculation. Most of my recipes simply say βsalt to tasteβ to let people cater directly to their own needs. Even with the few recipes that state an amount of salt, I still omit the sodium content as it can vary significantly with other factors. (For example, differing sodium content between brands, using no-salt vs. salt-added canned tomatoes, etc.) So I always encourage people to calculate their own to achieve a much more precise reading based on their exact ingredients, brands, and amounts.
Q: Do you allow guest posts or articles?
A: Thank you for the offer but I don’t accept any guest posts on the site.
Q: Can I send you my product in return for a review or sponsored post?
A: Thank you, but there are no sponsored posts here on The Garden Grazer; a decision I made shortly after starting the blog 8+ years ago. I strive to give readers complete peace of mind that I’m not being paid to promote or say things, and that all content is honest and authentic. I’m not opposed to collaborating with a few select companies once in a while if I’m truly passionate about them and our values align (such as Encha Organic Matcha). But I’m driven to keep it meaningful and genuine with how I incorporate it with the blog.
Disclosure on my relationship with Encha Organic Matcha:
For full clarity, I do receive free product from Encha, but I would purchase, drink, and recommend them regardless. They are currently the only company I collaborate with, and I was the one to initially reach out to them because I love their quality, attention to detail, and how much our values align.

I just found one of your recipes on Pinterest. Everything looks delicious! I can't wait to spend the summer trying new recipes from your blog! Thank you for sharing them!
Hi Kristie! Thanks so much for your kind words! So awesome you're going to try some recipes this summer. I LOVE hearing people get excited about food π Enjoy, enjoy!! Would love to hear which ones you try if you get the chance. Take care!
I found you through pinterest too and am LOVING your recipes! Thanks so much!
Hey there Thompson Fam! So glad to have you here! Hope you keep enjoying the recipes π
For the last two weeks you're my go-to site for vegan meals. I've tried three AMAZING meals and have a long line of meals waiting to be made as I work my way down my list lol. Your website is now bookmarked. THANK YOU! The only problem is that your dishes are SO good that I want to keep making the ones I've already made, but then I won't be able to make new ones … do you see the conundrum you've put me into?!?!?! Sigh … π
Hi Patricia! Haha, what a great problem to have! π Thank you so much for your sweet comments! SO happy you're finding recipes here you like! I absolutely love hearing people get excited about the food π I hope you continue to enjoy any other ones you try!!
Just found your Blog and I'm so excited to try some of you recipes!!! My husband and I are choosing a Vegan lifestyle. Thank you for sharing you recipes!!!
Hi Cheryle!! Makes my day to hear people so excited about the recipes! Glad they'll help you on your vegan journey. I hope you enjoy all the recipes you try – would love to hear how it goes! Have fun with it! π
Kaitlin, thank you so much for these recipes! I have tried 4 of them in the past 2 weeks and they have been an absolute hit with veg and meat eaters alike! I also appreciate that they aren't time consuming recipes. Thank you again and I look forward to trying more of your concoctions!
Hi Lily! Oh YAY! Thanks for taking the time to leave a message. Makes my day to hear the recipes being enjoyed (especially between herbivores and carnivores alike!) I've got a little kiddo to chase around all day so come meal time, I definitely need quick and easy recipes π Hope you continue to enjoy any other recipes you try here! Thanks again Lily!!
The cilantro dressing was absolutely delicious! I added a couple of Tablespoons of nonfat yogurt and 3/4 of an avocado. Thanks for this fabulous recipe!
Hi there! You're welcome – so glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for letting me know!
Hi Kaitlin! I just saw one of your recipes in Pinterest and now I am here in love with your website. I can't wait to try your recipes. I have recently decided to take a break from meat and your website will be of a great help! π
Hey Carolina! Aww, so sweet π That's awesome to hear you're enjoying the site. I hope you find some recipes you like! Would love to hear which ones you try out. Best of luck with your break from meat – have fun exploring other foods!! Take care!
I just found your recipe for the Cilantro Lime Dressing from 2013. I saw a multitude of comments but I see the recipe on the printer friendly and the blog page differ. Which combination do you now use for the best cilantro lime dressing? Thanks, Diane
Hi Diane! THANK YOU so much for your comment – I just updated the print-out!! π I became vegan after I originally posted this recipe, so I initially used greek yogurt but always use avocado for the dressing now. It's so customizable which is what I love! Thanks for pointing that out, I really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy it if you give it a whirl! π
I just found your blog and LOVE the recipes! Can't wait to start trying them π
Hello Kaitlin
I have just found your blog and I am over the moon! I love veggies, but they often go bad in my refrigerator because I lack vision for them. Thank you for your beautiful, yet simple recipes.
A full time, stay at home, home schooling mom like me needs all the help she can get!
Could you provide the calorie content for these recipes?
Hi Mary! Due to the many variables, I don't provide nutritional stats on the site. But if you'd like to calculate your own you can try this website:
http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php
I've heard it's pretty straightforward and easy to use. Hope that helps! π
Update: I know this is an old comment, but just wanted to let you know that the estimated nutritional content is now provided on the site! (You can find it below each recipe in the post.) Hope you find it useful! π
want to print alot of these is that possible??
paula
Hi Paula! Yes! There's a "printer friendly version" at the bottom of each recipe, right below the directions. It will take you to a page where you can click the print button π
I found your website on Pinterest last week and LOVE IT! It is very well done and easy to maneuver. I especially like that the salad recipes are printable to one page, and your photos show the ingredients before they are mixed together. I can see how really simple they are after all, and no need to fret about cooking.
I always wanted to be a great cook, but I just didn't get that gene. I have no kitchen imagination (and we have no kids), so my Husband does most of the cooking and I am "cleanup detail". I figure – if he will eat it, then that's the trick anyway, right? I sure hope he'll like garbanzos and black beans!
I'm also excited to try Matcha, and learned everything from your website. Thank you for (finally) some really useful information.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave such a sweet message! Thrilled to hear you're enjoying the site π I definitely love simple recipes that are full of flavor!! Keep me updated on the recipes you try if you get the chance. So fun to hear you're going to give matcha a try too!! Let me know how it goes and if you have any questions! π Take care!
Thanks for responding to my comment! As a matter of fact I did try a couple of your colorful salads for relatives and they loved them! I prefer cold food in the summer since its plenty hot in Georgia! My first experience with cooking quinoa, and loved your recipe for the super salad! But then, you can't go wrong with avocados either! I did learn to fold them in last or they won't stay cubed.
I have also been "spiralizing" my cucumbers and zucchini with my new Veggeti Pro (basically a fancy apple slicer). It makes thin spaghetti type noodles (and has other ribbon blades, etc.) that dress up a plate and you can eat raw or sautΓ©. HOW FUN – and you were my inspiration!
Also, I recently discovered dehydrated OKRA and want to try this with green beans, squash and zuchs (most were at 130 degrees for 6-8 hours). Maybe this could be another segment of your website?
So glad you and your relatives have been enjoying the salads! I agree – they're so refreshing in the summer (especially down in that southern heat – whew!) π That Veggeti Pro sounds awesome! I've yet to try spiralizing but it's becoming so popular now, and I know I'd love it. Will definitely try it out soon, thanks for the motivation! Loved reading all your thoughts – thanks for taking the time to write! Have a lovely week and stay cool down there! π
Here is the Amazon link for my Veggeti Pro if you're interested. I tried the small "hourglass" shaped spiralizer (basically an old-school pencil sharpener for veggies), but it didn't feel safe to hold. After a little more research, this was my favorite:

I'm also about to place my first order for matcha from Encha.com per your recommendation! We have a NutriBullet 900w and I'm making "compost smoothies" of leftover veggies and can add the dry matcha. Hubby loves the NB for fruit drinks, but I'm cravings GREENS!
Awesome!! Thanks for the link π Let me know how the matcha goes!!!!
Hello, I just made your Southwestern Chopped Salad for our Fourth of July barbecue and am really looking forward to it. For myself and my health conscious friends, we would like the nutritional information for this salad starting with serving size. Thank you.
Hi Wendy! Hope you enjoyed the salad at your BBQ!! π Due to the many variables, I don't provide nutritional stats on the site. But if you'd like to calculate your own you can try this website:

I've heard it's pretty straightforward and easy to use. Hope that helps! π Have a lovely week!

Hi, I love this site. Garden Grazer, Kaitlin, you have the best, most colorful and healthy recipes I have seen on Pinterest. Thanks for all your hard work, but it seems like you love it too!! Thank you!! π
Lori

That makes my heart smile! Thanks for your kind words and taking the time to comment π SO glad you're finding recipes for your sweet family to enjoy. Yay for happy kiddos at meal time! π Hope you continue to enjoy them. Wishing you a wonderful week, Smith family!
Just wanted to say that your recipes are delicious and my body feels so much better eating this way! Thanks for doing what you do!
Hey Kelsee! Absolutely thrilled to hear you're enjoying the recipes! I feel so much better eating this way too – isn't food powerful and amazing!? Thanks for the encouragement and kind words, it's very appreciated π Have a great weekend!
I found one of your recipes on Pinterest, and I became entranced with your website and blog. And special thanks for introducing me to matcha! I wondered what it was, but couldn't try any of the bottled matcha drinks in the stores, because none of them were kosher. (I'm a kosher vegan.) I have already ordered a whisk, scoop, and organic matcha from encha.com. I also signed up for your blog and am looking forward to further exploring your website and pinterest boards. Thanks for everything! Devora K
Aww, hi Devora! I loved reading your comment, thanks so much for the sweet message π SO excited you ordered matcha!!! Let me know if you have any questions. And I truly hope you enjoy any recipes you try! Wishing you a lovely week!
Hi Kaitlin. I really love your site and your recipes. Beautiful!
I was wondering if you could tell me what you do about vitamin B12. I read from multiple sources that it is the one thing vegans must make sure they get enough of as it is not found in plants (it is found in animal products only because animals eat unwashed plants which still contain the vitamin B12 bacteria). Do you take supplements or choose non-dairy milks fortified with vitamin B12? Or perhaps something else?
I look forward to learning from you.
Thanks a lot and happy holidays!
Hi again!! π Thanks so much for your kind words. It warms my heart to hear people so excited about the recipes! As far as B12, I try to do both a supplement (most days a week) and work in non-dairy milk, nutritional yeast, cereal, etc – there's actually quite a few B12 fortified foods now. Though a disclaimer: I'm definitely not a medical professional and this is just what I personally do π I hope that helps a little! Wishing you a very happy, peaceful holiday as well!!
Hi Kaitlin, I made your Fiesta Bean Salad before and both me and my husband love it. How many people does it serve? It's been awhile since I made. I am making for 12 women so need to know how much. Thank you. Danyne
Hi Danyne! I'm so glad you both loved it! You could get by with a single batch if there are other dishes and people are taking a small amount. Otherwise, go ahead and double it – leftovers are always good if you have extra! π
Thank you. I did double it with the same thoughts. π
Hi Kaitlyn
Can't seem to find what your vegetable stock consists of! Do you make it or is it store bought?
Thank you.
Hi Cathie! Sorry for the delay (we just made a cross country move and are slowly getting settled in) π I actually buy Trader Joe's organic veggie broth which I love! I've never made my own but definitely need to try it – I'm sure with most things, you just can't beat homemade π
How Kaitlyn
Have only just discovered your wonderful site. I have been vegetarian for 35 years and I'm always looking for new recipes and ideas. Thank you so much for posting here – it's a real God send for me!
Hi again π Thanks so much for taking the time to share your kind words – they always encourage me to keep going! It's fun to hear you're enjoying the site and I love that you've been vegetarian for so long!! Have a beautiful week Cathie!
Oh my GOODNESS! I'm so grateful to have found your website. THANK YOU!!
Hi Tina! Aww I'm so happy you're excited about the site – thanks for your sweet message π Truly hope you enjoy the recipes! Have a great weekend!
Thank you so much for posting these! I love the photos, and can't wait to try them π
Hi Jenny! Thanks for stopping by – hope you enjoy the recipes!! <3
I have a Big question:how about your B12 vitamin. I want yo be vegan too, but I'm scared of my B 12. That's why I only eat fish. I from Colombia and I fell in love with your recipes. I need to improve my English. So, that website will be so interesting. Thanks, waiting for your answer.
