Our family’s favorite homemade pizza sauce! Easy to assemble and super flavorful with garlic, herbs, and a little tang!
Our favorite, easy homemade pizza sauce! This has been our family’s go-to recipe for years. It’s flavor-packed with garlic, herbs, and a little tang. The recipe makes enough sauce for one extra-large pizza or several smaller English muffin/pita pizzas. (And the flavors only intensify as it sits, so it’s also great made ahead of time. Simply store covered in the fridge until you’re ready to use.) Hope you enjoy as much as we do. Happy pizza partying!
Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce
Our family's favorite homemade pizza sauce! Easy to assemble and super flavorful with garlic, herbs, and a little tang!
- 6 oz. can tomato paste
- 1-3 cloves garlic (depending on how much you like garlic)
- 2-3 Tbsp. water (more to thin if desired)
- 1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
- 1/4 tsp. dried basil
- 1/4 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/8 tsp. cumin
- Salt to taste
- Finely mince garlic.
- Add all ingredients to a small bowl and stir well to combine.
- Can use immediately, but the flavor is best if you let it sit for about 30 minutes. (Or make ahead of time and refrigerate covered until ready!)
Recipe yields about 1 cup sauce. I like my sauce on the thicker side (this one is very dense), so simply add more water to thin if desired! Can be made a day or two ahead of time and stored covered in the fridge until ready to use.
